American Football - American Football

Mike Kinsella, currently recording under the moniker of Owen, has had many other bands in the past, one of which (back in '99) was this band, American Football. In the style of his other projects, AF melds softer emo-rock with a post-rock/instrumental track list that will more than likely put you to sleep (which is a good thing in this case). You can really tell that this is Kinsella's transition from Cap'n Jazz to Owen, blending relying more on simple instrumentation and lyrics than a intricately mixed, band-heavy album.

I have found that American Football is probably one of the best autumn bands ever. Living in upstate New York, driving around looking at the foliage. it's just wonderful!
